Group Rail Travel
Supporters who travel by train to the Addicks' away games outside Greater London can take advantage of discounted return rail fares thanks to special deals usually negotiated independently by Charlton fan Syd Cheeswright.

Fans requiring discounted fare rail tickets should call 020-8688 3916 from 7-9.30pm on Sundays to Thursdays, except during any Charlton evening game, carefully noting the information and booking deadlines below. Payment for each trip must be made at that time. No late requests or payments can be accepted.
Group rail travel will not function for the away game against Millwall on March 13th.
For the game against Huddersfield Town on March 27th, the best and cheapest route involves changing at Sheffield in both directions. Trains leave St Pancras at 08.55, 09.25 and 09.55, the first and third arriving at Sheffield in time to catch the 11.36 or 12.36 for the 73-minute journey to Huddersfield. In order to catch the last train at 19.27 from Sheffield to London, arriving 21.38, the return train from Huddersfield at 17.35 necessitates changing at Wakefield Westgate.
The adult discounted fare, incorporating an EMT special football ticket, from St Pancras to Huddersfield return, will be £37.50 for adults and about half price for U16s. The latest date for booking discounted rail fare tickets is 9.30pm on Wednesday, March 17th.
From Huddersfield station, bear left along Railway Street and follow the road as it bends north-east towards the junction with Northumberland Street. Cross straight over the junction, on the offside, until you come to Lord Street, which is the third road on the right.
From here, the away end is two-thirds of a mile away on foot. Continue east along Northumberland Road and cross the dual carriageway into (A62) Leeds Road. Take the second turning on the right (Gasworks Street leading into Stadium Way), cross over the River Colne, turn left and then bear right through St Andrews car park to the away supporters' turnstiles.
Alternatively, catch a bus from northbound bus stop K4 in Lord Street. Arriva services 202, 203, 220 and 229 depart every eight to 10 minutes for the short ride along Leeds Road to the junction with Bradley Mills Road. Get off there and walk 180 yards east along Bradley Mills Road to the stadium on your right.
For the game against Milton Keynes Dons on April 3rd, Bletchley station is nearer to Stadium:mk (1.3 miles) than Milton Keynes Central station, which is 2.5 miles away. London Midland trains leave Euston at 11.13, 11.24, 11.46, 11.54 and 12.13 for an average journey time of 50 minutes to Milton Keynes Central. All these trains, except the 11.46 departure, stop around five to seven minutes earlier at Bletchley station.
Return trains from Bletchley depart at 17.26, 17.46 and 17.52 back to Euston, all of them calling five minutes earlier at Milton Keynes Central.
Fans living near SW London may prefer to catch a [Southern] train from Clapham Junction station direct to Bletchley. There is an 11.38 departure from Clapham Junction and a return train at 18.13 from Bletchley. The direct journey time is 80 minutes.
From Bletchley station, walk north-east along the B4034 towards Fenny Stratford, cross over the A5 Watling Street and the following roundabout into Saxon Street. The stadium is then half a mile away on the left.
The adult group discounted fare will be from £8-10 return depending upon the actual number of adult passengers who must travel together on both the 12.13 outward and 17.52 return trains. Accompanied U16s, one per adult, will be able to travel for £1 return. The latest date for booking discounted rail fare tickets is 9.30pm on Tuesday, March 30th.
Arriva MK Metro service 7 departs from bay 9 in Bletchley bus station at 12 and 42 minutes past the hour to Grafton Street, the first southern section of which is only 180 yards from the west side of stadium:mk. Buses return at 17.21 and 17.51. The adult single fare for the five-minute journey is £1.20; no return tickets are sold.
Fan should avoid the hourly 'country' bus routes 70 and 150 to Saxon Street on the east side of the stadium because the adult fare from Bletchley bus station is £4.10 single or £7 return using a Day Explorer ticket.
For the bus station, walk south from the railway station along Sherwood Drive and turn left at the roundabout into Buckingham Road. After the railway bridge, turn left at the next roundabout into Saxon Street and the bus station is near the lay-by on your right.
If you prefer to walk to the stadium, continue north-east past the bus station along the B4034 Saxon Street for around one and a quarter miles. On the way, cross over both the A5 Watling Street and Bletcham Way roundabouts.
For the game against Southampton on Saturday, April 10th, trains leave Waterloo at 11.39, 12.05 and 12.35, arriving Southampton Central station at 13.17, 13.22 and 13.49 respectively. Return trains depart at 17.30 and 18.00, arriving Waterloo at 18.49 and 19.20 respectively.
The adult group discounted fare will be from £17.50 and £23 return, depending on the actual number of adult passengers who must travel together on both the outward (12.05) and return (18.00) trains. The stadium is 1.1 miles east of Southampton Central. To walk, exit the southern side if the station, go a short distance west, turn left over the station bridge and left again into Western Esplanade. There is a footbridge from Northam Road towards the north-west corner of the stadium.
For the game against Exeter City on Saturday, April 24th, trains leave Paddington at 10.06 and 11.06, arriving Exeter St Davids at 12.10 and 13.32 respectively, in time to catch the local train at 12.18 or 14.18 for the six-minute journey to Exeter St James' Park station, which is just across the road from the gorund of the same name.
Caution - catching the later 12.06 departure from Paddington is not recommended because, if the train runs six or more minutes late, the connection at Exeter St Davids will be missed. The same situation, but much less dangerous, could obviously occur with the 10.06 departure from Paddington should that train run late.
The return train from Exeter St James' Park departs at 17.18, enabling supporters plenty of time to catch the 18.02 mainline train from St Davids, arriving at Paddington at 20.37.
St James' Park is a 1.2 mile walk east from Exeter St Davids station along a route which is not very straightforward. As the fare from Paddington to both Exeter St Davids and St James' Park stations is the same, the local train is therefore the better option.
The super off-peak day return fare from Paddington to either Exeter station is £64.70 or £42.70 with a senior railcard.
The alternative route from Waterlooo is not recommended. Although the return fare from Waterloo to Exeter St Davids station is 11 per cent cheaper, this route not only involves one change, but also an additional 75 minutes journey time.
The adult group discounted fare from Paddington to either Exeter station will be from £35.50-£47 return depending upon the actual number of adult passengers, who must travel together, in both directions, on both the mainline (11.06 outward) and local (17.18 return) trains. Accompanied U16s, one per adult, can travel for £1 return. The latest date for booking discounted rail fare tickets is 9.30pm on Thursday, April 15th.
Advance warning - There are some major rail problems locally concerning the game against Oldham Athletic on Saturday, May 8th. Because of extensive engineering works, there are no trains from Manchester Victoria to Oldham Werneth or to Oldham Mumps station until at least 2011.
